The inspiration behind the creation of our Fabric Texture Lipsticks, by Creative Director - Lori Leib.
Ever since I was a little girl, I have been obsessed with texture. I wouldn’t wear anything unless it felt good against my skin – I believe this is where my love of fashion was born. I became obsessed with silk vintage scarves, and second skin t-shirts. I was the little girl who would throw tantrums if my favourite t-shirt was dirty, or a dress, blanket or sock was itchy… Sorry mum!
I have since evolved, but as long as I can remember, I have been what I call a ‘glamourous’ t-shirt and jeans kinda gal. The perfect fitting jeans, the softest (and sexiest) t-shirt, and a gorgeous, yet simple makeup look. This is my go-to… to add a blazer – and you are business. Add a heel, and you are party – but always, add lipstick.
We have been working on the Fabric Texture Lipsticks for a long time coming, the idea came about a while ago, as I love a Matte Lip and adore my Lip Lava’s – but I wanted something fresh, modern, and most of all comfortable. Working closely with one of my favourite labs, to create a lipstick that is powerful in pigment, yet feels like the softest fabric on your lips – literally becoming the “Fabric Of You”.
We knew that we wanted two vibrant reds, a beautiful selection of pinks, and a solid nude shade – creating an incredible wardrobe of lipsticks, that will work for everyone and every occasion.
Think intense and pigmented colours, yet light and plush textures – which is why we have worked with powder coated pigments, and not heavy waxes.
We had tough requirements, and our most important, we wanted the formula to be vegan, which was a challenge.
